Hilarious

Have you ever watched a hilarious accident happening in front of you?

I was stuck in Dubai's traffic jam (as usual) and the road I was using had three lans. I was on the middle lane. Beside me on the left lane there was this nice old silver Camry driving behind a big water- transferring truck. I believe that the truck driver was drunk or something because his truck started sliding backwards slowly towards the old Camry without him noticing it. The Camry driver started honking and honking for the truck and I was actually watching the whole seen from my car window wondering what will happen next (I drive a Camry too by the way- but not old). The truck kept on sliding backwards until it actually crunched the whole front of the Camry all the way to the front windshield. I was shocked - but laughing too- because the Camry driver started to jump up and down and scream from the top of his lungs trying desperately to catch the attention of the truck driver but it was all a waste. Once the traffic started moving the truck driver placed his gear on the first speed and actually started driving without noticing the horrible accident he just made/ caused. People in other lanes- including my self- started screaming at the truck driver and another driver left his car, ran towards the truck driver's window and knocked on it so hard to get his attention. It was this bad!!
I’ll leave the rest of the story for you to figure out.
Waw- that was something. Truck drivers in this region are careless and inexperienced too. This is tragic I know- but I’m sorry- I couldn't stop laughing until I arrived to the office.

A lesson to be learnt from this story: never drive/ park behind a truck and never drive next to them either if you can.

Thought I should share this with you people!

Regards,
H.

I agree with you; it is sad. In fact- it is more than just bad because I was empathetic with the Camry driver a lot. But the funny thing in the story is the images- and you are right again- I was there and I can picture the face features over and over again in my head and the reaction of the truck driver when he realized he actually caused an accident! (yallai 2a3deen yekfeeko shar eli jayeen)Thank you for the nice comment :)

I happened onto your blog because of Rachel Fuller, and when I read this entry, I had a flashback to a time when the same thing happened to me!

I was in my little red Volkswagen Golf, and a huge truck was in front of me at a red light. Another truck turned into our road at the intersection, and the truck in front of me decided to back up, so as to avoid being nicked by the turning truck. Apparently the truck in front of me had no view of me, so he just put his huge truck into reverse and backed right into me (at a red light!), PUSHING my poor little VW backwards. Damage was minimal but I was terrified.

It was like being on a ride at an amusement park. Horrid! I honked and yelled but of course he didn't see or hear me.

When our light turned green, the truck driver drove away. I got my car into a nearby parking lot and called the police. Eventually the policeman came, and he said that a truck driver had flagged him down, saying "I might have been in an accident." So we ended up settling and making right with the truck driver. But it taught me that lesson: never relax around a truck, and be aware that they probably can't see you. I also try to leave a lot of space between me and a truck at all times. It makes me feel a bit safer.

Phew!

Nice to "meet" you, virtually. Your blog is fascinating.
